Wavegarden launches teaser clip ahead of new technology
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 May, 2017 - The new incarnation of Wavegarden’s artificial wave technology is about to hit the net. Today the company launched a teaser clip shot at their secret R&D facility deep in the Basque Country of Spain.
The system, known as “The Cove”, is Wavegarden’s latest development in machine-generated waves designed specifically for surfing.
While Wavegarden’s first generation technology is in use at a few surf parks around the world (Surf Snowdonia and NLand Surf Park) many pool users have been calling for a system with hollower waves that come through more frequently than the current design.
“We have been working really hard behind the scenes on a new type of technology that makes up to 1000 great waves per hour,” the company said in a statement. “Plenty of surfers have already tested it out and have all been really impressed with the quality and frequency of the waves.”
In the below clip the test pilot is Norman Landa, a local surfer from San Sebastian.
More details after the official launch tomorrow.
