Last year Wavegarden took home top honours
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 June, 2016 - Once again, EuroSIMA, the european action sports manufacturers association, will promote and reward innovative members this coming year.
The EuroSIMA Innovation of the Year Award recognizes the year’s best innovation from member companies. Criteria for selection include the level of technological innovation, environmental performance and the market potential of finished products in Europe within the Action Sports and Outdoor industries (surf, skate, snowboard, windsurf, stand-up paddle, etc).
It is the perfect opportunity to showcase our ability to innovate and to adapt to industry needs. The award winner will receive a 5000 euro cheque as well as an advertising campaign to promote the innovation on all association channels of communication.
Each application will be analyzed and presented in mid September 2016 to a jury of experts, which includes representatives from academia, environmental research, higher education, specialized european media as well as professionals from the athletic world.
Companies have until August 19th, 2016 to apply by emailing their application to info@eurosima.com or mailing it to : EuroSIMA - 123, boulevard de la Dune - 40150 Soorts-Hossegor, France. The winner will receive official recognition and be handed the award during the EuroSIMA Industry Awards ceremony held on October 7th, 2016 in Seignosse during the annual industry Waterman’s Ball gala.
In 2015, WaveGarden was rewarded for its technological innovation in artificial waves. The swell system generates a water mass, which moves over the surface and creates an artificial wave with controllable size and speed to provide different levels of desired difficulty according to surfing level of use
On October 7th, 2016 attendees can discover the 2016 EuroSIMA Innovation of the Year Award winner.
